ETF2L is starting up its third season of Highlander next week. Last year they had over 300 sign-ups and are hoping for even more this year! Signups start Monday, October 15 and are open through the week until October 23. The season is slated to start the first week in November.
As an added bonus, to help promote the new season, on Sunday October 14 there is a Highlander match scheduled between one of the best teams in Europe and North America: Teams SNSD and The Syndicate. The match will be broadcast on VanillaTV at 9:15PM CET and is a joint effort between VanillaTV, ETF2L, and eXtv who are all going to be covering the event. The United Gaming Clans (UGC) Highlander and 6v6 leagues are gearing up for their fall season openers on September 17 and September 19 respectively. UGC has expanded and now features operations in Asia and Australia and teams from these regions are ecouraged to sign up. In addition they will be raffling off an unusual hat and there will be an in-game medal design contest sponsored by Ruskeydoo (Hibernating Bear Heavy set creator). The European Team Fortress 2 League has announced their 13th 6v6 Season. The prize pool is even bigger this year totaling 2,500€ in addition to featuring prizes from Tt eSPORTS.
Here's the upcoming schedule for the season featuring seven match weeks followed up by three weeks of title playoffs in the Premiership or two weeks of potential tiebreakers for other divisions. More details can be found on the hub page for the season.

The first of several replays have been made live from the Team Fortress 2 Mix-up #4. These are from the event where players raised an impressive $9,664 for children's hospitals around the world and a chance to play several matches against and with various community celebrities. Much fun was had and we're already looking forward to another.
eXtelevision has been putting together a fundraiser to help send two North American teams to the European Team Fortress 2 tournament at Multiplay i46! VanillaTV has been covering the events and will be hosting a night of exhibition matches over the next two weekends between the top two winning teams in North America.
Classic Mixup took first place in the eXtv-hosted i46 qualifier and the ESEA LAN champions, Leviathan Gaming, were runners up. These two teams are hoping to both be destined to i46, but need additional funds to make the trip happen. Visit eXtv and Vanilla TF2 for more details.
Season 5 of the Highlander league, The Round Robin is underway. Their goal is to create a fun atmosphere that caters to those who want some more structured games but without the pressure of the more serious competitive scene. TF2Maps.net is putting on another level design contest to create a King of the Hill map that is designed around the Highlander style of play. Wireplay's Highlander's new 9v9 league is nearing the signup deadline. Weapons are currently undecided, however, most unlocks will be available and all players are encouraged to vote on maps to be played. Signups close Friday, May 4 and the festivities kick off proper on May 14.
