The Free-2-Play Invitational Cup, featuring teams from Counter-Strike Source, Left 4 Dead 2, Brink, and Call of Duty 4, has their final match up on Sunday, August 7th at 19:00 BST / 20:00 CEST / 11:00 PDT / 14:00 EDT. Top team Epsilon Brink will face off against a team of Valve employees and a variety of internet celebrities. Robin Walker and Jon Lippincott of Valve will be joined by Richard 'Gonzo' Lewis and John 'TotalBiscuit' Bain from CynicalBrit.com backing them up. Since a couple of us at Valve will soon be playing the winners of the Free-2-Play Invitational Cup, we've also started ramping up the amount of time we spend thinking about ways to cheat win creatively. In completely unrelated news, if you see any TF2 updates in the future that have no changelist, don't worry, there's absolutely nothing going on.
A group of 38 talented community members have begun to lift the veil off their fine creation, the most elaborately crafted fake TF2 update we've seen yet: The Medieval Update. With over 70 new custom models you can download and try out in Medieval mode, there's got to be something in there for everyone. In fine TF2 update tradition, they're releasing the details over the next few days, so keep an eye on the page.
Dr Ether over at Ethercast fired us an email to let us know that he's finished his Meet the TF2 Voice Actors! playlist, containing 35 minutes of amazing footage covering the many roles that TF2's voice actors have held in the past. Note that there's some strong language in there, so you might want to avoid the Scout & Medic videos if that's not your cup of tea.

Torn Productions dropped us a line to show us their latest work, a frags video from last season's ESEA champions Checksix Gaming, featuring the soldier duo of TLR and Dave__AC. Many Medics & Scouts died to bring you this video, not to mention a large number of enemy soldiers just hanging about in the air.
And who wouldn't? We all got a kick out of this video by MaxOfSD2.
Kassie N over at Tumblr dropped us a line to show us how she and many others in the Tumblr TF2 community spent their time while waiting for Meet the Medic. From June 10th to June 23rd, they drew and painted Medics of all shapes and sizes, and collected them into a massively Medictastic collage. In the end, they had over 160 images, created by over 50 different artists.
Kassie then sent that massive collage to us, and we promptly brought down the Valve network trying to download it. After that, Kassie took mercy on us and broke it into individual images, and our IT staff took mercy and stopped trying to have us fired.
